Description

Otisco Fire Department is comprised of 1 of 2 Departments within the Otisco Fire District serving roughly 33 square miles of rural farmland and mountainous terrain. We have a lake within our District along with two golf courses/restaurants and a music venue. Various hiking trails and waterfalls and even a race track. We have 6 pieces of apparatus in Otisco-Squad 2 for EMS and light rescue, Rescue Pumper 2 for heavy rescue and fire suppression, Tanker Pumper 1 for providing water and suppression, Tanker 1 for providing water, Mini 1 for wildland suppression and search/rescue and UTV1 for wildland suppression and search/rescue in any terrain. We serve multiple other neighboring Departments in Onondaga County as well. We have roughly 24 members at the moment and continue to slowly grow. We also are offering a new RAM program that will be taking off soon.

Why Our Department
Some members call it Pride others have generations of Fire/EMS in their family. Others do it for fun and the adrenaline rush when the pager goes off. Whatever it may be you become family when you join. You continue to grow your knowledge of Fire and EMS. Some members have started at Otisco and gone on to being career fire or EMS. It teaches you discipline and respect for the job and others and to carry yourself a step above the rest
